Gen 4 Paddles!

Professional Pickleball

  • The PPA Australia Pickleball Open starts on Wednesday and finishes up Saturday night: Game play is between 6 PM - 2 AM ET.

  • Major League Pickleball (MLP) is making changes - notably getting rid of rally scoring for doubles matches (beside the DreamBreaker).

  • Ben Johns is mixing up his partners for the next 3 tournaments. He’s playing with Hayden Patriquin, Gabe Tardio, and Max Freeman.

Paddles

Pickleball Pundits is getting a discount code! Currently 10% off CRBN and $10 off 11six24 paddles. They’re both coming out with new paddles in the next 1-2 weeks, discussed below.

New highly anticipated paddles:

Gen 4 Paddles = core made entirely out of foam

  • Foam cores should help improve spin by increasing the dwell time. The two foam core paddles are the CRBN TruFoam and the Selkirk 008. Take a look at the CRBN TruFoam core from an interview with CRBN.

Upcoming paddle releases:

  • 11six24 “Gen 3” Power paddles are being released in all three shapes (Wide body, hybrid, and elongated) to fill out their variety of shapes and power level shown below. Initial reviews show no break in period and good durability.

Ronbus Ripple = most powerful paddle that will be available

  • Many reviewers are surprised this paddle has been approved. This is a good replacement for the Joola MOD TA-15 which is being banned in July.

New Franklin FS Pro Balls

  • Franklin will soon be releasing a new ball that is harder and faster playing than the popular X-40 series
